Model 1892 Short

The Winchester Model 1892 Short has a steel gloss blued receiver and a round 20" gloss blued barrel. It has a lever action, tubular magazine and a Grade I walnut stock with an oil finish. The stock features a straight grip, crescent buttplate and a short forearm. Some of the other features of the 1892 Short include a Marble's gold bead front sight, a Buckhorn style rear sight and a tang safety. The model is available with a 44 Rem Mag. or a 357 Mag. Nominal weight of the rifle is 6 lbs 8 oz.

Not as easy to point (more front heavy) than an M1 Carbine, but easy to keep on target and excellent iron sights. Gets the most out of handgun cartridges. My best short range weapon, including home defense and grab 'n go, and off the "assault rifle" radar here in California.

It is by far the easiest-handling centerfire rifle i ever used... Quick point and shoot, very light to carry to and at the hunting field. Can't find a reason to complain. I use it mostly for deer hunting and it never let me down.
