The Remington Model 783 bolt-action rifle
Amongst the many gun manufacturing companies, Remington have established for themselves a very good name in the industry for developing quality bolt-action rifles at a price that is affordable to the working-class populations. As a consequence their latest release – the Model 783, is expected to become a top seller following its launch.
Despite its wallet friendly price tag, this excellent new weapon is certainly not a cheap and nasty imitation. It still retains a high degree of accuracy, which is very much a plus point, and will be available in as many as 4 alternative chamberings. Its weight sits somewhere in between 7.25 and 7.5 pounds, which gives it a nice comfortable feel for the user, with the additional features of a free floating barrel, plus an adjustable trigger to increase its flexibility.
The synthetic stock comes complete with a fully integrated recoil pad and huge savings have been able to be incorporated into the asking price through the design of a tubular receiver and barrel nut system.
The over-riding opinion of critics is that the Model 783, with all of its clever features, is a highly promising rifle and, with the likelihood of it making an appearance at forthcoming SHOT show, there is every chance of its popularity increasing further. With some early prices quoted at as low as $350, it really does have the potential to be a superb bargain for those gun lovers for whom finance is an issue.
