Recommendation For A Hog Rifle

Hello. I've read the other thread in the forum but I just cannot decide on a hog rifle. What would you recommend? Someone told me that a .444 is efficient for this type of hunting, was he wrong :?: Thanks for the input.

In close up brush hunting areas I'd recommend the 94 Winchester in 44-40 which is just great. For open fields environments or where longer shots are taken, the 308 is unbeatable. Glad to be of help.

Re: Recommendation For A Hog Rifle

I started out by using an old yet efficient Ruger M7 .270 that worked very well. Every hog that i shot was killed with a few exceptions that were my fault. But i later found the need to have a second or third shot ready. I did not get this with my bolt action gun so I later got an AR 15 which are now becoming quite popular in the hunting world. Give it a try.

For close in - in the bushes a Ruger Mini 14 (.223) or a Ruger Mini 30 (7.62X39MM).
