Rabbit Hunting Rifles
Due to the fact that rabbits are small-sized animals you won’t be needing high power weapons, we recommend purchasing high accuracy rifles rather than extremely powerful rifles. A rim-fire is the best type of rifle recommended for rabbit hunts. Before purchasing a rabbit rifle you must first think of: fit, sights, action, caliber and weight.
If you purchase a weapon with a very short stock, the scope will most likely hit your eyebrow and will give you the so-called “scope bite“, if the stock is too long, it could get caught in your armpit if you will wear a heavy jacket. A full-size stock is recommended for adult rabbit hunters due to its perfect fit. The stock design and excellent balance are very important for a rabbit rifle because you will need a rifle that can be handled both readily and quickly.
We recommend purchasing a light rifle rather than buying a ultra-light model because with the ultra-light rifles it can be very tricky to keep the balance and make efficient shots.
