Ruger not accepting any more orders until June 2012

Due to record breaking high stocks, Ruger have taken what was initially a rather surprising decision to freeze new rifle or pistol orders until June of this year. The company have had sales increases every month for the past 2 years and continue to have their finger on the pulse with innovative designs that capture the public's imagination.

This announcement has basically been made because they simply do not have the manufacturing capacity at this moment in time to fill all the orders they currently have in their book, believed to be around $200 million worth, therefore it would be irresponsible and unfair on the customer to accept fresh requests until they can get on top of the situation.

Theories vary as to why there is an increase in demand but possible changes to the law may account for it as too is the popularity in all forms of shooting sports including hunting. People seem to have a little more disposable cash lately, but possibly the main reason is that Ruger make extraordinary good guns and recent events show that this fact has no sign of altering any time soon.
