The Kimber Model 8400 WSM features a lightweight construction thanks to its Kevlar-carbon fiber stock that has both pillar and glass bedding. This stock benefits from sling swivel studs and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. The 24-inch barrel benefits from a stainless steel construction and a sporter contour, with a satin stainless steel finish and match grade chamber. In addition, the manufacturer has fitted this model with a front locking repeater, a Mauser claw extractor, a 3-position Model 70-type safety and an adjustable trigger.
